and marketing of photovoltaic modules that convert sunlight into electricity. The company develops thin-film 
silicon based photovoltaic products and manufacturing equipment for high-throughput production of flexible and 
lightweight photovoltaic modules at low cost. The company was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Toledo, Ohio. 

 

Job Description

This position will be responsible for Improving, implementing and maintaining the Safety Management System to ensure

a safe working environment for employees and be in compliance with local, state and federal safety regulations at our

Toledo, Ohio manufacturing facility. The Safety Engineer will be reporting to VP Facility.

n           Accountable for developing, maintaining and assuring quality of Safety Systems for thin film Si Solar Module Manufacturing.

n           Work with the engineering teams to ensure that new and existing equipment as well as all operation procedures, including electrical, mechanical, chemical, toxic gases, fire, water ----, comply with OSHA regulations in our facility. (*)

n           Analyze designs/drawings of equipment to assess safety issues and provide recommendations to maintain compliance and safe working environment.

n           Provide technical service and support to the organization, facilitating implementation of practices to manage site safety risks, and ensuring compliance with federal and state safety regulations as well as corporate standards.

n           Organize an Emergency Response Team(ERT) to handle any accidental safety issues on company’s premises.

Job Status: Full Time

Qualification & Requirements

n           Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering or science fields with 5 years experience in an industrial setting.

n           Familiarity and experience working with OSHA regulations.

n           Past experience in developing, implementing and improving a Safety Management System.

n           Have a general understanding of manufacturing environment and the type of production equipment, processes, and systems typically present in such an environment.

n           Work with existing or new machinery with risk factors derived from manufacturing process.

n           Experience in commissioning new equipment working with the design or process engineers.

n           Ability to work with multi levels within an organization (process engineers, project engineers, facilities engineers, etc.)

n           Self motivated, possess excellent interpersonal, problem solving, presentation and communication skills (verbal and written). Team attitude and ability to interface with employees on a daily basis.

n           Analytical skills and statistics required.

n           A certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification is a plus but not required.

The purpose of this rule is to reduce the number of job-related fatalities, illnesses, and injuries. The rule will accomplish this by requiring employers to establish a workplace safety and health program to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and the General Duty Clause of the Act.
