Job # 1001: Human Resource Specialist

Company Overview:

MWOE Solar, Inc., a technology spin-off from the University of Toledo, engages in the development, manufacture, and marketing of photovoltaic modules that convert sunlight into electricity. The company develops thin-film silicon based photovoltaic products and manufacturing equipment for high-throughput production of flexible and lightweight photovoltaic modules at low cost. The company was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Toledo, Ohio. 

 

Job Description:

 

This position will be responsible for establishing HR systems (including recruiting, position appraisal, job title system, compensation & benefits, training & development, career development, and performance management), policies and procedures. This position will also be responsible for some office administrative functions.

 

Job Responsibilities:

n           Establish HR systems including recruiting, hiring, pay scale based on position appraisal, benefits program, performance management, performance-reward compensation, job evaluation/analysis and training & development system.

n           Develop strategies and generate professional procedures for recruiting process, including: creating channels, preparing job advertisements, screenings, scheduling, phone/on-site interview, Job offers, Negotiations etc.

n           Develop “Behavior-based Interview Questions” and selection tools to identify the right candidate.

n           Establish and implement hiring process for salaried and hourly work teams including new hire packages and documents that require new hires fill in and sign. Create new employee orientation procedures and handbooks based on corporate policies and culture.

n           Establish the Talent Data base for the company.

n           Track Human Resources statistical data for performance analysis and to meet future ISO certification requirements.

n           Assist managers to develop job description and key performance indexes (KPIs).

n           Standardize all departments’ KPI’s to link performance with reward/recognition.

n           Review performance evaluation of probationary employees and get information to build up employees’ database.

n           Survey and analyze exit interview data to improve company policies or culture.

n           Act in an advisory capacity to all managers ensuring that people-related matters are effectively addressed. 

n           Develop an e-HR system which improves internal workflow/company processes and increases effective communication with employees and organization by eliminating paperwork.

n           General office administrative functions.

 

Job Requirement:

n       Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

n       Knowledge of current HR theory and practices as it relates to compensation and rewards, employee recognition, performance management, and positive employee relations

n       4 years experience as an HR Manager with broad generalist experience

n       Knowledgeable in US Labor Standards Act

n       Well-organized and detailed-mind, devotion, initiative and positive thinking

n       Good analytical skills and an aptitude for numbers

n       Excellent computer skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
